Benedictine is accredited by the Ohio State Department of Education and the North Central Association of Secondary Schools and Colleges, and the Ohio Catholic School Accrediting Association. Each student carries a minimum of 6 credits in each semester.

Academic Graduation Requirements

To receive a Benedictine Diploma a student must successfully complete a minimum of 24 credits, including:

4 credits English
3 credits Social Studies (1.5 credits of World Hits. &

                                       1.5 credits of U.S. History/Government)
3 credits Mathematics (requiring the completion of Geometry & Algebra 2)
3 credits Science (requiring Biology, Chemistry & Physics)
2 credits Classical or Foreign Language (two years of the same Language,

                                                                three years recommended)
4 credits Theology (for each year of attendance at BHS)
½ credit Health
½ credit Physical Education
1 credit Fine Arts

½ credit Computer Application

2½ credits Elective courses

Students will be designated at each semester grading period for the following academic honors:

Dean's List 4.000-3.600 G.P.A.
Second Honors 3.599-3.000 G.P.A
